Summer Tips to Prevent Elderly Heat Stroke & Exhaustion

Stay Hydrated

Avoid caffeine or alcoholic drinks since they are known to dehydrate you. Furthermore, many medicines that seniors take may contribute to dehydration, so drink plenty of water even if you’re not thirsty!

Keep an eye on Humidity

When there’s high humidity the body’s ability to sweat and cool itself down is impaired. Seek air-conditioning!

Know the warning signs!

Get help immediately if you experience nausea, rapid heartbeat, chest pain, fainting, and breathing problems.
Elderly heat stroke and exhaustion is preventable. Don’t hesitate to reach out for help if the heat is getting to you.
